I was patient for once and skipped the GF4 generation and have my sights set
on either the Radeon 9700 (which looks like it spanks the 4600 in AA
performance by a factor of 2) or if I can wait even longer the NV30 chip
which should leapfrog the 9700 given historic patterns. Either way, with a
new card and perhaps an AMD 2000+ I just MIGHT see F12K2 at 50 fps with
4xFSAA running 1280x1024 - 32-bit (fingers crossed). Hell, anything close
would be pure racing joy. ;0)

We aren't allowed the same 'rubbin is racin' action that the real guys have.

So if true, the one genre that already has a 1st rate sim from the
premier autosim developer on the planet, and is least in need of
competition or another product, now has one.
Be still my beating heart.

BTW, that's how grass is supposed to look (color wise).

Well they would have to acheive several things they have not done yet.
Such as dynamic weather that affects/effects some or all of a track. Model
smaller bumps in the track surface. (here is one they did with gpl but not
since) Produce different shaped chassis with separate handling
characteristics.
On a positive note...they already have the code needed for the <Jacque
Villenuve/Eddie Irvine/JPM>{pick one or all} first lap/first turn banzai
suicide move...they just have to repaint the Surtee's Honda.
