Hi

 I am very interested in upgrading to this graphics card and am
 particularly interested in how fast it is with F1GP2. Could anyone
 who has this combo. please either e-mail or post what sort of fps
 they get.

We tried several cards with GP2, Diamond/2MB, Matrox/2MB and ARK/1MB.
All cards performed well. Matrox and Dianmond are of cause faster, due
to the 2MB onboard. And that is about all the difference you will get.
2MB graphic cards, supports 64 bits data transfers, a 1MB card only 32
bit.
Because GP2 does not support any accelerator functions, you wont get any
gain in speed by bying fancy cards. The speed is determined by your
bus-frequency, and by the amount of ram on your card. Unforteunately, a
4MB card does NOT support 128 bit transfer.
If you only want to play on your computer, buy a 2MB PCI card, cheap
shit. If you use Windows, buy a Diamond, or a Matrox. Its as simple as
that...

Hi Al,

Well, an ET6000 isn't a graphics card, it's a chipset. This chipset is
used in several cards, including the rather spiffing Hercules Dynamite
128 which is totally the dog's b&*&%^%$ as far as video cards go at the
moment.

If you can't find a Dynamite, any card using the ET6000 should be very
quick, but the Herc's a winner for sure.

PS - If you can get hold of "CBENCH", benchmark your system before and
after. In fact, I'm going to upload CBENCH to the binaries group, so
anyone who wants an excellent FREE benchmarking program which handles
SVGA, texture mapping, real fps reading, and true readouts, go and
download it.

I've just ordered a Hercules Dynamite 128 (ET6000 based) on John
Wallaces recommendation. I'm currently running a #9 Motion 771, so
I'll let you know what sort of improvement I get.
