NASCAR Thunder 2003: Need Help Editing AI

I would greatly appreciate any help the group can give me on how to
edit the AI in NASCAR Thunder 2003. I've tried playing with the .plr
file and the .rcd files in the "Drivers" folder but what I am doing
appears to have no effect whatsoever. Apparently I have no idea what
I'm doing! Has anyone had any success doing this? Is there a FAQ
somewhere?
