Voodoo or GeeForce ?

  It's a pickem these days.
With the d3d patch for GPL, a 3dfx card is no longer
a necessity.  But the FSAA option does add to the clarity of your picture.
Since WSC is delayed til much later, I'd be using other sims as your target.  GPL or F12k look good on either card, if you have other, older sim or glide only programs, then V5.  But if you are looking at N4 with it's T&L and the D3D of Gp3, then Geforce will do very well.
kinda have to look at your total library of games/sims to decide.  Tough choice

I agree with Dave, in that you need to look at you game library and think about what you plan on buying in the future before you make the move.

How soon are you planning on getting this system?

Right now the GeForce II GTS 64 meg card by Hercules/Gullimont is the most powerful card on the market, but at $400 it ain't cheep, then again a V5 5500 will run $300 so it's nothing to sneeze at either.

Another alternative, one that I have just purchased is to run a GeForce 32 or 64 meg AGP card with a Voodoo II 1000 12 meg PCI as a backup/piggyback board. That way you'll be able to take advantage of Glide for older games, and the VII 1000 is plenty fast for older games that were written for Glide only.  In fact I can't recall any "glide only" games that have come out in at least 2 years or more.

thus spoke:

You are forgetting one major point. FSAA on the Geforce2 is broke,
same with their drivers. FSAA works great on a V5. I had a Geforce2
until yesterday. I now own a V5 and am happier for it.
