I've just got the same problem. I had to restore my F1gamestate and
GP2.exe. Thank god I backed both up. I'd have been mad. Just a lesson to
back everything up before making changes.

Problem with 96 carset (GP2)

Any ideas why I can't install (or even update) the 96 or 97 carsets in
GP2?

When GP2 runs it's fine as far as getting to the menus - then the screen
goes haywire - colours flash everywhere for about 10seconds, then it
crashes.

I've establised it's only to do with changing F1GSTATE.SAV. Changing the
.EXE file isn't the problem.

Yes, I have the full install, and it's English version 1.0b.

Anyone else had this problem? I REALLY want to play with 96 cars!

(BTW, it happens if I run the batch file to update or update F1GSTATE
myself using one of the editors.)

I had the same problem a few nights ago.. although I wasn't installing
a carset at the time, I was editing nose cones. Anyway, the solution
was to reinstall the game. (btw Im also using UK English 1.0b). As you
say, the F1GSTATE.SAV seems to get corrupted. Which carset are you
trying? I recommend using Pieter/PKA's.
