Evening All,
Hi, can anyone tell me where I can get any patches, downloads and
cheats off the net for this game please?.  I recieved it for christmas
and I am having a ball but I would like to make sure that I have the
best setup and configuration possible.
Thanks in advance for any assistance anyone can give me.

Great game, innit?

Go here:

http://www.activescore.com/rally/rc.html

You need the physics "manager" (it allows you to change the grip levels,
defy the laws of gravity, etc.), the game-play fixes (lets you save the game
between stages, etc.), and the "bonus" car additions (which includes fluff
like houses on wheels, sheep in baby carriages, etc., as well as a potent
Renault Clio, opening up all the A8 cars--and the A8 Championship--etc.).

Too bad the same developer dropped the ball w. Rally Championship Xtreme....

Magnetic Fields wasn't the developer for RC Extreme.

Man, I love the realism aspects of RC in terms of presentation, but I
just recently uninstalled it (for probably the 30th-40th time since
I've owned it)
because I just cannot enjoy driving a block of wood for 20 minutes.
I'd rather have 20 minute stages with passable physics than 2 minute
stages with Porsche Unleashed-quality handling and ridiculous engine
braking (like Rally Masters, Rally Trophy, or Master Rallye) but for
the love of god, can we please have independent brake locking,
realistic weight transfer, setup paramaters that corespond exactly to
what the real competitors modify as the weekend progresses and so
forth.  A lot of people seem to think the high grip and collisions are
the worst part of RC2000's physics, but I would find at the ridiculous
collisions acceptable if there were some sort of weight transfer model
with independent suspension and wheel dynamics.  I hate that I get
sick of RC2000 after a 20 minute long drop-dead gorgeous stage but
I'll gladly sit and lap Bristol or Monza for 2 hours trying to eke out
a few thosuands of a second and I'm riveted.

*plea to dave kaemmer to give us a BRC game*

http://www.theuspits.com still has some of the essentials as well.

I don't believe RalWiz has it, but make sure you try playing around
with noautoneutral=1 and nolinearsteering=1 in your ral.cfg.  RC2000
exhibits one of the things I absolutely hate about older non-papy
games (and F1 2001 for that matter) - turning the wheel at 100mph
causes the car to respond and change orientation to the same degree as
it does at 20mph (when in reality the car should want to continue
going in a straight line).  Setting nolinearsteering=1 will let you
keep the sensivity high enough to make those hairpins while removing
the high-speed twitchiness around the center.  Noautoneutral=1 keeps
the game from continuously resetting your can back to N anytimg you
crash or brake below a certain speed (very annoying by the 2nd time it
happens).

Wasn't RCX a different developer but the same publisher?  IIRC some
company named Warthog or something did RCX while Magnetic Fields or
Actualize did RC2000.

The first addy won't load and the second has no RC-related material.

Take out the page. Just load

http://www.cix.co.uk/~peterpc

It sort of takes you to other RC related sites. Just use their
LINKS page to take you elsewhere.

Nope, sorry--the best I can do is get as far as High Gear, which has RCX but
no RC.  The official RC site (www.rallychampionship.co.uk) is Out of Service
(as in "This page Could Not Be Found").  Perhaps you could give me an addy
for this alleged v4.0 patch?  TIA.
