My only problem is I can only run it just after I install it (before I reboot).
Otherwise I get an error when it tries to load up. I hope I can get it to work on
my system or it will have to go back. :0(
Anybody have similar problems?
Mike
System:
Asus P3C2000 MoBo w/ PIII 600B at 133Mhz FSB
128MB 133Mhz Ram
IBM 20.GB Hd
Voodoo3 2000 PCI
SB Live! Value
MS Sidewinder FF Wheel
Mind you, I also downloaded Greger Huttu's Lotus setups around the same time
so that's probably not a coincidence.
On the topic of sim "cross fertilization" I find that GPL and/or RC2000 have
improved my Nascar 3 driving. I'm much smoother and more consistent, enough
so to start a championship (at 10% distance, 98% AI).
Did you ever try the demo of RC before you installed the game? If so, you'll
need to delete the registry key and then do a fresh install.
There's about 18,000 postings there so far for RC so I'm sure you'll get a
solution.

Funny... For me, GPL and SCGT (full realisms, patches etc) have
improved my driving enough to make a difference in real life driving on
race tracks... Everytime I go to a track event I am reminded of how
well those games are made. The most revealing thing was how the same
mistakes in real life and those games resulted in the same
consequences.. Just as in GPL/SCGT, I am not smooth enough getting
on/off the brakes or accelerator, and I upset the balance of the car.
;-) Great fun !
As for RC2000, it's pretty and I love rally, but I kinda hate the TOCA
feel of the steering wheel (on or off) and the fact there is about 4
inches on each side of the car to play with, then you're off the road,
but hell, it's pretty.

Heck, some claim to be better drivers on the street for their sim
experiences. :-) Maybe so; I also think it helps a little, if only to better
understand how a car behaves close to the limits. I wonder how much faith
you have in this belief. Have you tried realistic damage and full GP-length
races in GPL?
Michael.

Anyway, GPL skills don't translate well to a 90hp FWD Honda Civic very well
:)
I always use realistic damage but *never* full-length GP. My average is 15
laps at Monza between hard impacts with immovable barriers.
