Just bought my copy at EB for $27.99.  It is a new build 01/28/2000 and
contains all the patches.  Supports all options in ral.cfg as well.

For me it was well worth the wait!  My RS Shifter should be here on
Friday and my TFS Tactile Feedback Seat is shipping on Monday :)

Check out 'High Gear Forum' for RC2k......you'll find solutions for
stuttering.... and many skins and utilities to add to this great game.

You know any extra tracks that can be downloaded?

Thanks.

Highly detailed texture.  In replay, everything looks photo-realistic.  I
play at 1158 x 864 32bit.  Driving in rain is even more cool.  You can
basically see rain drops on the windshield.  The game blows my mind. <G>  I
wish I have a FFwheel because I bet I could feel every bump.  Too bad you
can't use the mouse in the main menu.

David,

How's that new "combo" setup of yours with Mobil 1 RC?  Does it support
split axis, and how's the FF effects?

Overall are you happy with your new setup?  Any problems with getting any
sims to work with it?

Bert

Bert -

It ROCKS.  The TSW2 pedals work with the Force RS as one controller with
split axis pedals in RC2K.  The FF is pretty good.  I believe they have
improved the steering code since the early demo's.  I think I'll get some
good time out of this one.

We'll see if F1-2000 pulls me away in a month...

So far in everything I've tried, the new setup works just as I expected -
seamlessly.  The guys at TE did a GREAT job.  It wasn't a no-brainer
either - they had to hack the pots to make the TSW2 pedals work just
right with the driver for the Act Labs Force RS.

They even left a connector that I can use if I want to hook my TSW2 wheel
back up in the future.  Funny - the slogan at Act-Labs is "Anything else
is just a toy" - I think the guys at TE might have an opinion about that
;)

As far as I know there are as yet no extra trx., but a 'Paris/ Dakar' would
be nice....

One last question:

With your setup as it is now, is it still recognized as a Force RS, or do you
have to set up a custom controller in Windows Control Panel?

How do you suppose it will run on a PII 266 w/128 meg of RAM and a 16 meg
TNT (1) card / V2 12 meg system ???

Is this worth my while, or will it just be an excersie in frustration ???

Thanks for the advice!

Spend your money on upgrading your system instead of buying software.
Your system is quite outdated.  I'd say a P3-800 and GeForce256 are in
order.

The only way I consider a sim running "fine" is at 1024x768, with a
full grid of cars and all possible graphics related options set to
maximum and producing no less than 25 to 30 fps.

Is there really that much of an improvement in running at 1024x768 as
opposed to 800x600??
