Hey Guys I just got RC,I have finally got it to play bye using ralwiz I had
to check no sound I got away from the blank screen and it plays(with no
sound)I think I have a ESS es1869 sound card went to their website got the
latest drivers it still doesnt work,I emailed magnetic fields but got no
reply,Maybe guys can help?I know others must have this problem...Thanks for
any help...

  The simplest solution would be to replace your ess card with a
Soundblaster Live.  That is about as close to a standard as we have.

I've had the misfortune to have not one but 2 ESS cards, and they were both
sh*t, although it's probably the drivers (GPL kept freezing--including the
sound--which is usually a driver problem).  If the ESS drivers don't work,
try another mfr's drivers whose card uses the same chipset as the ESS.

Or just get a SBL!

I have a Toshiba notebook with an ESS 1978 sound card and RC2000 works 100%,
no problems at all.
