So share it with us, why should we have to wait?

Not that I don't trust you but take those pictures with a grain of salt.
They could be only some normal Nascar2 pcx files with some anti-aliasing
made on them (it's very easy).
Everything that is on r.a.s. have to be look from the outside. Btw just
tell me how did you made those screenshots and how did you have the patch.
I don't know you as a Papyrus tester.

Not calling anyone a liar here.....but if these are indeed 3dfx pics, I
am not very impressed. The Rendition version looks 3 times that good!
Are you claiming to be a beta tester...if so, did you get papy's
permission to post these? If they are real, I don't think Papy would be
happy with someone posting pics of such low 3dfx quality. Or perhaps
these are from an early alpha stage? Enlighten us some, please!

I dont think the rendition is 3times as good. It looks pretty good to me.If
its real.

I had an official answer that those pictures are fake.
This guy wants attention and he fooled us. Kinda like the N3 guy this week
:-)
Those are normal Nascar2 pcx files with some anti-aliasing made on them.
Have you seen the Rendition ver of Nascar on the new Thriller 3d? The quality
of the graphics are VERY good. Much better than the "so-called" 3dfx shots
posted here! And I am not biased against 3dfx. I have the CL Blaster Voodoo 2,
Canopus Pure 3d, STB Velocity 128 Riva, and Thriller 3d- spread across my 2
systems. 3dfx graphics typically look much better than what Nasfan posted, and
the Rendition graphics look MUCH better on my Thriller 3d than the "3dfx" shots
Nasfan posted! Besides, they probably aren't real anyway...hence the poor
quality.

Attention perhaps, but he doesn't seem to be fooling around. Not sure
how he was able to create the screen shots though, as the "normal" '\'
key produces the same effect as the Rendition version. However, this
doesn't mean he didn't use a 3rd-party program.
They sure look "genuine" to me...If not, then this guy has one hellva'
talent for knowing which items are smoothed, and which aren't in the
3Dfx version.
FWIW, the only improvement over Rendition (that I can tell) is that
mouse-movement in the menus has improved (just a tad)...3Dfx card
owners will find this patch a bit anti-climatic IMHO.
Cheers!
Marc

could you please e-mail them to me.

Agreed, I thought they looked pretty good actually. A lot better than
the software version.
I disagree. I just want to be able to play N2 with all textures on at
a reasoable frame-rate. The patch should enable that. Maybe you meant
that 3Dfx users who already HAVE a Rendition would be underwhelmed?
Joe
Hey Marc will the 3dfx patch include anti-aliasing?

Oh. It's Julian Data who told me this they were fake. I just said what he
told me. I think that if someone hacked something to get these files it's
bad. But the guy's name wasn't familiar to me, so I took those pictures
with a grain of salt.
Another thing that made me think they are fake. I never saw somebody who
made Rendition screenshots in Nascar2.
Heh I don't have a 3dfx card, since I only play Simracing titles, and I am
not very enthusiastic about the 3dfx patch. It seems for me also that
people think that the graphics will be 10times better than before.
I think Brian is a better reliable source than the guy who posted those
pics.

Joe, does that mean that bilinear filtering will remove the "jaggies"? I
still don't own a 3dfx card, but plan to buy one in a couple of months.

>Unlikely, since the 3Dfx card doesn't support hardware anti-aliasing.
