Also I haven't really noticed any changes from running in SVGA to
running in 3DFX mode.  I've got a Soundblaster Banshee and i've tried a
couple different tracks, but I just don't see any graphics improvement.
Is there any?

For the screen shots you need to put the -3dfx after the exe and it will give you tga files instead of pcx.

    I've put in the 3DFX patch, no problems, but when I make a screenshot, I
    get a 12k file of just black.  Any way around this?
