I know this question has been asked a million times, but What Graphic
card should I buy?  My video card sucks, its an S3 Virge with 2mb of
ram.  My question is "is there a card that has both rendition and 3dfx
that I can use to replace my old card?  On my system, NASCAR 2 and
Indycar Racing II run great, but CPR and MotoRacer and the Toca Demo run
very badly, very low framerate.  Which should I buy ?  I plan on buying
one soon, so any suggestions would be appreciated.  i want to run
MotoRacer very badly, but when I run the demo now it has black squares
that pop up in place of objects, and I guess that is due to the poor
quality of my video card...I have a pentium 233 with mmx if that helps
any...i would like to have a card that would be used in place of the
junk I have now

Thanks folks

Get yourself A good one!
Diamond has a couple of good Videocards
out right now!
The setup I own ROCKS!
I have the Canopus Combo!
The Total3D/Pure3D!
The Total3D is an overclocked 1st generation
Rendition card.
The Pure3D is a 6 meg 3DFX card!
this card is capable of being overclocked as well!
Check'em out www.canopuscorp.com

Well at this time and moment 3DFX is the leading 3D card and would be the
one I would recommend buying. The only problem is todays technology is
tomorrows garbage in a short amount of time. Fortunately 3DFX has been
holding the lead in 3D games for about a year and many companies are writing
their games with this card in mind. Other 3D cards are just catching up and
if Voodoo 2 meets the claims that 3DFX has made about it the 3DFX chip will
be the leader for the next year also.

Thanks
John

I have a p233 mmx as well. I currently have the Sierra Screamin 3d
rendition card, which I am very happy with. However, I also see the need to
be able to run 3dfx as well. I plan on purchasing the Canopus Pure 3d 3dfx
card , to run in conjunction with my Sierra rendition card. I know the
newer rendition cards are out, but I will probably hold off on them for a
little while.

You are definitely in the minority on this ... I've heard lots of people
complain about that card ...

I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Sierra card, never a moment's trouble
from it for me. Of course, I spend all my time on Nascar 2 with some Icr2
dabbled in for good measure <g>

I have a Monster 3dfx and Mattrox Millineum II in a 266 box. It all
works great but I need OpenGL running in a Window. Is there a good
video card to replace my Millineum that will do this. Are any of these
Rendition based? (would love to see Nascar 2, Indy 2 and SODA in
Rendition mode).

Thanks

Why do you want it in a window? You could sell both your cards and get a
Voodoo Rush card.
