N4 sound problem solution?

When the demo was released a few people I know had problem with screeching
engine sounds. It was a problem reported here a lot but I never read a
solution. The people I know fixed it with a SB live upgrade however I have
just installed the full version on a computer and I have the same problem
using an onboard via sound chip. I have however had it working fine on an
identical board. Is there a fix?

  The BEST fix is to NEVER use onboard sound.  OBS is usually a
price/feature leader and has VERY low quality/low cost components.  Plus you
will never see any real driver updates for OBS.  Sure it works, sure it's ok
but not great sound, but if you really want better quality and better
performance, buy a dedicated soundcard.
