Hate to bring up the subject again, but.. With banning people, do they
have to be wrecking everyone "only" on the papy servers?  a group of us were
on a non-papy daytona 30L w/yellows race.  Two of the drivers were chatting
about who they were going to take out next and having a ball doing it.  When
we asked to have then ejected they both said they would stop it, but they
didn't.  any case, we ended up with only a couple drivers left running plus
them two after most of the race was run under yellow.

I hate to see anyone banned but these two were purposely taking everyone
out and making a game out of it.  I saved the replay if it's needed and if
papy can ban them.

A perfect example of why I lost interest in racing on-line with N4.  This
never (or very rarely) happened on VROC with GPL.  I long for the day when
we have a newer sim with on-line capabilities that doesn't attract all the
bad mouthed wreckers...

Banning can only happen on Papy servers.  I asked a long time ago (N3 days)
to be able to ban based on IP address or domain but they said they wouldn't.
So, the wreckers will soon be moving to other servers now :(

Just keep the race ranked above 1 on that will keep most wreckers out.
Shocks me that almost every server out there still runs unranked races.

Hi Michael,

Papy only bans folks that wreck on the Papy servers, and we have to be very
careful with what we report because these guys do all this in their leisure
time, as a favour to us, but considering that this is such a blatant case of
wrecking, why not humbly apologize for taking up their time and bandwidth,
and describe the issue in short words in an email to Papy?

Since it's really an extremely bad case, I'd assume even if they can't do
anything, they'll at least understand why you wanted to report it and won't
blame you for it. After all, reporting wreckers like these two guys is a
service to the community, too. And maybe they can at least put the names
in a list, for future use.

Not the folks I race with now.. We either keep it at a 5-10 or a 6-10..
I prefer a 7-10 myself..lol :)

I dont think I've ever raced a pickup race on VROC  where there wasn't a
crash on the first turn <G>

Just curious, Dale Jr. dumped a couple guys at last weeks race. Wonder if
papy banned his CD key ? <G>

Oh, I agree with you there Phillip, but it was always because we were too
over zealous into turn 1.  It was very rarely someone would purposefully try
to wreck others.  There were times, but they were few and far between.

I doubt it, but you can be sure that Stacy Compton probably won't whisper
him any passwords.

That would keep me out as well, since I don't have a ranking yet.  If all the
'private' servers go to rankings or passwords, and the Papy servers don't let
you advance because of the wreckers, then you're just SOL?  Pardon me for
saying so, but that SUCKS.

Eldred, with the SS rank online it is real easy to get a rank of 1 to 3
within 4-5 races. So if you do try N4 online, email me and I will try
to give you a quick a, b, c, on 'how to'...ok? :) The other ranks are
not hard either and most of the 'wreckers!' [not all now but most!]
usually stay in the SS races.. Also Guy Wilson runs a great server
that I know you will be able to get on!

If you can't get a level 1 on most any track then that isn't good.  I SUCK
at road courses and can still get a level 1.  Getting a level 1 is more
about not wrecking than finishing way high in a series of races.

That's what I was saying.  If I believe the people here, it's almost impossible
to find a race WITHOUT wreckers.  I know the times I tried to connect, almost
all the races were either passworded, or had latency limits, or were empty.
The ones that weren't were tracks like Sears Point and Watkins Glen(which I
can't drive, or Bristol(which would be insane).

Just in the last week my servers have been online we have had over 100 races
run that were of skill rating 1+ that were not pw protected.  You can even
set up your own races on my server.  Just go to my website at
http://www.raceserver.net and it will tell you how you can set up your own
N4 races on my server.  My server is on a clean OC-3 and is free to use.  We
also have a weekly "King of the Mountain" tournament which is also very
popular.  You can find races, just don't give up so easy :)
