You don't actually mention having a 3D card.
Do you have one  ?

I believe F1RS requires a 3D card to run.  But I could be mistaken.

You must have either a D3d compatible or 3dfx card.

Sorry - couldn't resist that little "Murrayism" :-)

Well, beat this then. I've had the game for a few weeks with no
problems. I just ran it tonight, and it says that I need a 3Dfx card
to run. I have an OR3D, and have had since before I bought the game.
when I try to re-install, it still says I have no 3Dfx card.

Win95 says I have a OR3D, and GL Hexen 2 runs fine (I see the spinning
3Dfx logo). I re-installed the R3D v3.0 drivers (twice) as well as
DXv5.0, and still no avail.

If I run the file voof1rs.exe (or whatever the file is called)
directly from the CD, the game runs successfully (and it wasn't even
installed).

Any comments?

Copy the file f1voo.exe to your installed f1rs directory, and remove
the d3d file, then change any shortcuts, or win 95 icons to point at
this file rather than the d3d file, and away you go.

It might be worth your while installing the patch after doing this
too? (from any of the f1rs web sites).

Here we go again!

If you installed the latest 3Dfx or Orchid drivers they will have removed glide.dll from your windows system directory. Simply copy glide.dl_ back from the CD that came with your card and rename it glide.dll

When you run the install for F1rs your 3dfx card should then be recognised.
