Matrox M 3D and F1RS

Hi,

Today I got a Matrox M 3D card so I can finally play F1RS. But
unfortunately the game doesn't run at all. Before the Matrox I had a STB
Virge GX Nitro 3D 4Mb card and when running f1rs I got a completely messy
picture. Wheels like blocks and trees looking like flat images.

After waiting for severall patches, the problem still wasn't solved. So I
decided to buy me a Matrox M 3D. I know its not a real 3Dfx but I didn't
want to spent too much money for the one and only game I play.

Unfortunately now all I get are the menu's, the track loading screen but
after that no picture at all. I'm furies..... I think I'm gonna return the
card and the game and play GP2 again.

Unless..... someone can tell me how to get the show on the role, using my
present configuration.

Pentium II - 233 Mhz / 32 Mb / STB Virge GX Nitro 3D 4Mb / Monster M 3D 4Mb

(Even formatted my harddisk and only installed DirectX 5 / Monster drivers
and F1RS)

Do you have a Diamond Monster 3D or a Matrox M3D? You use
both names in your post, so I wonder if you know :-) In any event
I would think that a 3dfx card (Like the Diamond Monster3D) will
give the best framerate.

Are you installing the correct version of the program for your card? Unless
you have an actual 3Dfx card, you can't run the 3Dfx version of the program
or use the 3Dfx drivers. Does F1RS have native support for the Matrox?

Its a shame you decided to purchase the Matrox in lieu of a 3DFx card. You
saved yourself $50, but the difference between the two is night and day.
Plus, its unlikely that you'll see any large scale native support for the
Matrox like what is currently available for 3Dfx.

Which version of the game are you playing?
Are you trying to run f1voo.exe? if so, then you have no hope of
running it without a voodoo or voodoo rush card.
It's a shame you bought a Matrox M3D, because they really dont cut the
mustard. Monster 3Ds are available for not much more, and you would
have an awesome looking game on your computer.
All you can do now is run the Direct 3D version using your Matrox.
Besides, 3dfx will also be supported with Grand Prix Legends....which
I'm sure you'll want to play too ;)
