Annoying NASCAR Heat problem!

Does anyone have an idea how to fix this...
I've had the irl/cts patch installed for a bit now, and all was working fine
till the other day when for some reason the game hung when i went to load a
practise/race/beat the heat, whatever i tried it wouldnt work. So i tried it
with no mods, and it worked fine. Now i have the same problem with them. I
can do a test session ok, but it takes a while to load.  I have a Celeron
374, 128mb ram, voodoo3 2000 ( i know your jealous :)  ) Any help would be
greatly appreciated!

It is probably because you are overclocking the chip, get some more cooling
in the case.

You can't run Beat the Heat with the Mod's. You don't have the same car
physics as the computer's cars.

But i cant even run beat the heat without mods, or even practice without the
mods, only test. Cant practice with the cts mod either

Its most likley no that seeing as its been run faultless for 2 years or so
at 374, and can also run at 450..

That is my point. When you overclock a processor, you start to degrade the
parts in the chip. Since you have run the processor for two years at this
increased speed, you have degraded the chip to the point where you are now
getting errors. So it is the overclocking...

Annoying NASCAR Heat problem!

If you can only run with test mode, probably you have corrupted either the
drivers.txt or one of the paint/paint256 resfiles, or even possibly be
running out of system resources.  Try uninstalling the program and all mods,
then manually deleting any files in your install directory and/or c:\Program
files\Hasbro Interactive\NASCAR Heat, and then reinstalling the game and
then the latest patch (you don't need to apply the old patches first).
If that still doesn't work and it still crashes, try posting the heat.log
file (located in your temp folder, typically c:\windows\temp under win9x)
generated by that run, and that may shed more light on the problem.

Under non-NT-based Windows, it is possible (although unlikely) to corrupt
any file that has been recently used when a program crashes... most of
memory is protected, but the file cache is unprotected for performance
reasons.  It's also very easy to modify something without realizing it (from
personal experience, at least).

Good luck!
