NFS III: setup and assists in tournament/hot pursuit? Why not?

by Jeroen van Engelenhove » Wed, 07 Oct 1998 04:00:00

Does anyone know a cheat to enable the car setup and the driving assists
during tournaments? And the driving assists during Hot pursuit? Can this be
hacked in any way? I don't like the standard car settings at all. I'm used
to playing Motorhead, so I REALLY need to change the settings to get what I
want...
Why didn't EA make these options available during all parts of the game? If
I don't want them on, I can turn them off myself, thank you...

Hope someone can help me!

As far as I can tell, you can apply the setups/assists in Single Race
mode, then they still apply (even though they can't be changed) in Hot
Pursuit mode. Not sure about Tournament.

I'm assuming this applies for the PC version as well: to be able to use the
"settings" during a tourney or knockout, you must first win a tourney or
knockout with stock settings.
For example I won the beginner tourney in arcade mode, thus unlocking the
"settings" in the sim mode.
I then used the settings to win the beginner tournament in simulation mode.
This was on the PSX version.
