Is it that I'm new to the game or the cars win't go faster than 191mph.  Also can anybody race with all the help off.

I've gone 224mph - see http://www.elmail.co.uk/~liam/gp2/topspeed.html

Actually, the normal top speed is 206/207mph.  To go faster
you need to start slipstreaming and using extremely high gear
ratios.

Cheers,

I've achieved top speeds of 207 down the front straight at Monza.

I didn't use any wings at all.

I think it's that you are new! DO you
change your setups so that the wings are down lower
and so you go faster? Also once you drive for a
while you'll realise that the driving "AIDS" can
actually slow you down! The gears are awful and the
auto braking is a joke!. The spins and crash aids
are only for those who don't want to be able to
drive. The line of best fit and the Gear suggestion
are just a matter of getting used to adn then you
wont need them. But the last one (whats it exactly
called?) is useful for those who don't hav e
joystick adn aceelerate at maximum speed out of
corners!

In short. Yes you can drive without aids!

I find it hard to race with any of the help on (excluding traction control)!!
If you want good lap times,
the help isn't really a help at all. A trivial example: shifting the gears
manually, and listening to the sound, I can gauge the speed of the car very
quickly to be right for a corner. With gear-shift help, one always has to
check the panel, which is very distracting, especially when you need to change
speeds quickly (i.e. in front of bends).
It's a complete pain, once you are used to manual shifting of gears.
Steering help is equally terrible. Ditto for opposite lock help.
One thing I could do with, though, would be ABS :-) My tyre wear is more
than Gilles Villeneuve's was back in the early eighties!
