I appreciate your candid statements about the sim ----------- but
BE CAREFUL  --------------- there are some people who infest this
newsgroup and feel thet you don't have the right to say what you
please about a product, which is absolute B.S.

I have gotten TWO flaming messages from a guy named
-------------------------MEA***ER ------------------------- who feels
it is his lot in life ------------ however in one of HIS postings he
asks NOT TO BE FLAMED !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it is time we get back to the basics and reasons for this
newsgroup to begin with ------------- to express opinions and share
ideas.      I do not stoop to penny-ante ***from morons, and will
express my opinions and say what i want when I want.

That is what America is about.   If you live in a country where
that is not ossible , sorry

But don't expect me or the others to comply with your standards.

This newsgroup is just that ---------- a group.   Of people who
SHOULD be able to get along and at least appreciate the fact that
someone can express an idea without outside intervention.

But when I start getting FLAMING messages from a guy who asks not
to be flamed  (MEA***ER) then you are stepping over the line and I am
calling you on it personally.   I think everyone else should know what
you are doing as well.

If you can't take the heat of a FLAME -------------- don't think
you can dish it out.

Any reasonable person would agree with me on that point for sure.

Doug,

if we all agree with you will you give it a break?

We all understand that you are pissed off with Mea***er so lets take that
as read and move on shall we?

I'm sure you have some valid things to say (about RAS that is), and blocking
all posts from you in the newsreader kinda defeats the object of a group
really, and when you keep harping on and getting on your soap box at every
opportunity it sort of  ruins the flow of the discussion really.

You are hell bent on "say what you what when you want etc etc blah blah
yakety schmakety".... well, guess what?- thats exactly what mea***er is
doing, whoever he or she might be.

This  post of yours was a reply to somebody else, its about 30 lines long
and ONE LINE is a reply to the other guy - the rest is your babblings to
Mea***er. Take it to email if you wanna have a slanging match with him/her.

Mea***er flamed you man - big deal, shit happens - don't get an ulcer over
it.

regards

-Lindsay

Look Doug:

For you to try and come across as the voice of temperate reason is simply
ludicrous.  You don't ask for patches; you ***ly demand them (in caps)
as something due "the people," as though Papyrus has somehow violated your
life.  You don't write as if you find *any* value in the GPL sim, but rather
as one would would like to grab a Papy guy by the throat and shake the
updates out of him.  Former policeman?  The thought scares me.

There's no *** aimed at preventing criticism, much less preventing
Doug.  No one's disputing your "American" right to "say what you want."  But
a lot of us are sure as hell disputing your judgement, tact, manners, and
level-headedness.  Those characteristics (ideally) are also part of the
civil culture of what you referred to as "America" (By which I'm sure you
must have meant the U.S. of A.  I hope other Americans, be they Canadians,
Mexicans, of those further south on the two American continents, will
smile.)

I think you might try a little self-reflection.

Ciao,
David

Naw I think almost all of us agree with him ;)

If I take the newsgroup charter :

"Welcome to rec.autos.simulators.  This is an unmoderated newsgroup for
discussions of realistic computer simulations of automotive vehicles,
irrespective of the platforms on which the simulations are supported. "

You can't say nothing about that.. well if you want you can decided that you
want to change it, but it's up to you ;)   .  So the goal of this newsgroup
is to discuss about racing simulators, and I don't see what is the problem.
We do so, all the time, maybe too much but hey we like it ;)

It's just words, remember... none of us will change your life ;)

No, not at all.

Surely in the land of the free it is someone's RIGHT to dish out a
flame regardless of whether or not he/she can take the heat? How dare
you try to repress the free speech of people on this newsgroup by
forcing upon us your opinion of "only those who can take it are
allowed to dish it out"?

You said Mea***er asked you not to flame him and but he flamed you -
you've just done the same thing. See how easy it is to get your wires
all crossed? Chill out, take a pill, whatever the current vogue
expression is. The only thing that works is squelching out the noise
and chatting with people who are able to chat. Ripping the hell out of
people is sometimes good for a laugh also :-)

Cheers!

Wrong again.  Look at the replies.  Do you see anyone acting hysterically
the way they do to your repetitious and obnoxious posts?  If I repeated the
same points 20 times, even after several people had provided reasonable
evidence to suggest that I was mistaken (I am one of them that attempted to
be helpful to you re: the Kyalami nonsense), then probably I would fray
enough nerves that someone (or many people) would tell me to blow off.  The
posts that agreed and disagreed with my points are equally respectful and in
a spirit of debate and information exchange...which is the purpose of this
group.

Marc.
