F1RS & GP2 Fans- Grand Prix of Monaco

Hey all you F1RS and GP2 lunatics,
FYI, this Sunday at 5.00AM Pacific time, the Speed Channel is
carrying coverage of the  Grand Prix of Monaco. While snippets will no
doubt be available later and on other channels, this will be starting
gun to checkered flag coverage, _live_ as it happens. If they broadcast
in Dolby Pro-Logic surround (often they do) I may be in big trouble with
my neighbors <ggg.> As a big fan of F1RS, this will be my first time to
watch the race after having "driven" the course, should be alot of fun.
All the best, Mike

Speedvision should also be covering qualifying live at 7AM (EDT) Saturday.
I've been enjoying the qualifying sessions almost as much as the race, as
they drive much closer to the "edge" than they can afford to during the
race. They have exactly 1 hour to get it all done. Watch for Schumacher --
he always gets out there for the final fast lap try just seconds before the
session ends!

Gee, I wish I had Speed Vision.  Coverage is scheduled to
start at 2:00 in Portland, On Fox Sports Network.  But we have
the benefit of being entertained by a million little commercials
while all you get to watch is the race.

That is a great benefit of racing sims.  The first race this
year that I've seen a whole lap with an in-car camera was Spain.
I slowly toured that track while starting and pausing the VCR.
F1RS looked VERY accurate.

The only serious error I've seen so far is at the back part
of Imola.  The grade between Variante Alfa and Rivazza is all
wrong.  This section is more like GP2 show it.  Of course GP2
doesn't show the changes made to Tamburello.  I've read that
other tracks have problems, but I'll reserve judgment until I
see the televised race.

I bet the Monaco pit exit in F1RS is not right.  I saw two
Computer cars collide big time when one exited the pits in
front of another ripping down the front straight.  Then I had
a *** confrontation with my team mate, Michael Shumacher,
at the same point.  That's a good reason to save during the
race.
