Just wondering if anyone has successfully ran the demo with a Voodoo 5 5500
graphics card.

Dunno - haven't installed it yet.  I'll let you know in about 20 minutes...

No joy.  I installed the program, but did NOT install DX9.  I first used the
standard settings:D3D, 800x600.  Went in, calibrated my controls, tried to go
to the track.  Crashed to desktop.  Went back to the graphics config, and set
it for OpenGL, 800x600.  Ran the program again, realized I had to configure the
wheel all over again(it hadn't saved it...).  Selected track, clicked "drive".
Hey, I'm on pit road!  Hit f for FPS, only shows 17.  Hit the gass, and start
moving.  After two or three seconds, the screen freezes, but I still hear the
car in the background.  I can hit the gas or brakes, but I can't see
anything.Kept on the gas until I hit a wall - still frozen screen.  I couldn't
exit the program, and had to reset the computer.
Reboot, leave the graphics to OpenGL, but select windowed mode.  Went to the
track - pit row.  I didn't hit f, but just turned the wheel.  The wheel turned
about 45 degrees, then the screen froze again.  Hit the gas, drove until I hit
a wall.  Again, couldn't exit - reset.
This time I change the graphics back to D3D, but left it in windows mode.
Tried to go to track, lockup - had to reset AGAIN.
So, it isn't working for me, locked up 3 out of 4 tries, and I don't have the
patience to futz with it right now.  It's probably because I didn't load DX9,
but others got it to work without it(although I don't remember what card they
use).

If I remember correctly, N2002 wouldn't run until I loaded DX8.1...
Hope this helps.

Eldred... before you do any damage installing DX9, don't. It won't help.

It's the card or the drivers and their relation to the game. Nr2003 does not
need DX9. I run it no problem on Win98se/DX8.1 and positively ancient 29.42
drivers on a GF3 Ti200.

Yup,  same thing here.  I tried it with DX 8.1 and DX 9 with the same
results.  I guess its time for a Geforce and with the FX coming out maybe
the Ti 4600 will come down in price some.  I don't mind upgrading, the thing
that gets me is that on their website papy claims that it will run with any
card that supports Direct 3D.  NOT!!    Thanks for the info.

Yeah, I said that I know some people got it to run without DX9.  I guess it
just doesn't like a V5.  That *sucks*, because that means I won't even be able
to play the damn thing at home... >:-(

Oh well - if you got the same results, sounds like it just won't work with the
V5.  I *do* mind upgrading now(no money), so I guess I won't be able to race...

I finally got it to run (kinda).  640x480x16, all graphic candy off in open
GL.  Looks like ***but at least I got to drive it a little.  Still not
acceptable though.
