Installed F1 2001 Full install. Applyed the patch. Installed the Mod V2. No
problems or errors at this time. But when I run the shortcut for the Mod, it
is still using my F1 cars, drivers aso. And every time I start the
Mod-shortcut the game starts the F1config.exe to set graphics adapter,
resolutions aso, but if I start the game with the normal link, it starts
normal.

What to do to fix this?

Right-click on the "good" link to start the game, go into Properties and on
the Shortcut page, check what the Target information.  Compare that to your
other link, and change as may be necessary.

Drag the short cut from the install folder to your desktop.  That sorted it for me
