That's funny! No, that's silly dedication to a software product...

Without a doubt: F1RS kicks ass - forget about those oldiesims without
weather and 3dfx-support...

Also, man mailt sich...

1000% agree, but...

ROTFL ! Just name 3 facts where GP2 is better. Eargerly waiting ;-)

Sorry, but ROTFL again ! Maybe you should play F1RS in simulation-
mode, eh ? There is NO better F1-simulation, IMHO.

That is not any more a troll than the message saying F1RS is an arcade
game.

About as much as the guy calling F1RS an arcade racing game.

Hey, weren't you people just bashing those guys who were complaining
about that message? So how come you now think I can't have my opinion
then?

I guess you think people have right to have an opinion only if it
matches your opinion. Too bad for you.

Er yes that would be true, but no-one said that. They did say that GP2
was an arcade game, and either of those statements would adequately
qualify as a bona-fide troll, hence my comment.

Cheers!

to me F1rs always feels like I'm floating along above the track (a
3dfx symptom perhaps?)

whereas GP2 feels more like I expect.

But it is very subjective: get them both and decide for yourself.

I know what you are talking about.  My thinking is that at
40 MPH I get that drifting going around a curve in my car.  It
is the tires squirming and slipping on the road.  I believe
extrapolating this to 120 MPH, or 150 MPH, would result in that
"Floating" feeling you describe.  A small slip angle at that
speed would feel like a lot of transversal movement.

People whose opinion I respect, don't think it would work like
this in a Formula 1 car.  All I know is that it fits with my
experience and expectations, which are at 100 MPH less, with a
quarter of the tire contact patch, in small cars that weigh 1000
pounds more.  We drive so much we have our expectations of how a
car should handle.  Many people love F1RS, I think this is why.

I'm NOT suggesting that F1RS is accurate.   I'm skeptical of
those who claim GP2 is.  I think that floating feeling, and other
subtle things F1RS models, are the most important aspects of what
makes driving fast on real twisty roads fun.

Michael Schomacher?  Johnny Herbert?  Please comment.

>i own GP2 and like it just fine despite being a NASCAR2 kinda guy. all of

Then how come you are playing GP2, since there was this one "GP2
***" who said F1RS is just for arcade racers? It is indeed
interesting to notice how many of you think it is inexcusable insult
if someone calls GP2 an arcade game, but when someone calls F1RS the
same, that's quite fine. Get your head out of your ass.

That is not a modern F1 simulation. The racing cars of sixties were
quite different. You could just as well buy Jane's F15 for a F1
simulation.
