Maybe *you* would like to read one of the thousands of posts made to this NG
about F1RS?  Maybe that will make it perfectly clear why what you said is
absolute bullshit?

Do you even own the game?  I bet you based your opinion on the demo, which
doesn't let you select the realistic driving options.

Nice to see you have maintained your rational approach to this debate

>You think a PII 266 will cut it?

Will run GP2 like a dream, if you don't turn all of the textures on. But who
needs clouds in the sky anyway?
Both games have their pros and cons. So buy both and try them. But remember
you need a 3Dfx card for F1RS. (And for a lot of other games, such as the
imminent Grand Prix Legends, which is vastly superior to both...)

Good luck,
Leo

Hi Tech (did you catch the pun?)...

I will assume you're asking that question about GP2, right?  If so, then
I can give you an answer of sorts. (If you were asking about F1RS,
sorry, I don't have it.)  ANYWAY... I have a P233 MMX with a poor vid
card (S3 Virge w/4meg) and I can run GP2 smoothly with almost all the
eye-candy "on"... yet still have the processor occupancy level below
100%. However at Monaco, I have to trim the graphics level back more.
Those tall city buildings take tons of processor capacity, I guess. In
all, I'm pleased with the eye-candy and game play I get with GP2 on my
system. One of these days, I'll get a good 3D card, and perhaps try
F1RS... but until then GP2 it is.

I think somebody mentioned that GP2 has hit the bargain bins at some
stores (read: "cheap")... so why not just get both GP2 and F1RS and
decide for yourself?

BTW, I do think you have to install a patch (or patches?) to get F1RS up
to speed, so remember that as well.

Have fun...

Psygnosis F1 and F1:CE on Playstation/PC have sold and keep selling
much better than either GP2 or F1RS, but I don't think that is the way
to measure how good sim it is.

If I were you, for better graphics, realism and gameplay I would
choose F1RS.

If you want just pure simple arcade action where you need no brains,
get GP2. It is more like Atari's Pole Position really. Very
unrealistic game, but then some people like GP2 for that.

I agree. But AKhan42046 said: "In EVERY respect". And that's where I
disagree.

You have a point there. ESPECIALLY SINCE GP2 DOESN'T
MODEL WEATHER!!!! DUH!

Ok I feel better now :-)

You obviously know *nothing* about simulations at all to make a
statement like this?

Are you completely crazy ? Probably did tou want to wrtite exactly the
opposite ?

If you want a nice game with a nice graphic play F1RS but if you want
a rela simulation, no choice, F1GP2
