NASCAR Thunder demo?

NASCAR Thunder demo?

Any word on whether or not EA will release one?

In the passed I've always avoided NASCAR games due to the oval tracks, but I
do like the cars themselves. So if Thunder is as open as F1 2002, EA will be
getting my money. I'd love to take a WC car around Monza, Montreal,
Silverstone or even Monaco.

I don't play online so multiplayer is not an issue for me, better AI is
however.

You can already take a vastly more realistically modelled stock car
around vastly more realisticaly modelled versions of monza,
silverstone, monaco and, well, mosport (mosport is better than
montreal anyway).

I don't care if Nascar Thunder 2003 has 8924792487 addons for it that
are all very high quality, the core engine and all of its components
are pile of crap.

There are converters for N3, N4 and N2002 that allowed you to do exactly that, where have you been
the last few years? ;)

I've been here and there, mostly here.

I have heard some rumblings about track converters, but not too much (i.e.
where can I get one, where can I get converted tracks, etc). Given that
"converters" exist, why isn't there more talk of N2k2 players racing on
tracks other than the ones included with N2k2? Granted I don't read every
N2k2 post, but I don't remember reading about people racing N2k2 on
Silverstone or Monza for example.

Also another reason why I've stayed away from N4 and N2k2 is that I kept
reading that these games have poor AI. As I mentioned, I don't race online,
so having good AI is kind of important to me.

There's a free converter that will convert about 5 tracks and a pay
converter that will convert 31 tracks, not only road courses though,
many tracks has had an overhaul in the Gfx department and I know David
and the people who pitched in also did a lot of work on the AI, which as
you say is quite poor in Papy sims

As for readily converted tracks, that's a no-no in most cases as the
original tracks are copyrighted by Papyrus or whoever created them in
the first place

There are several Road course only leagues for N4/2002, but you don't
see them advertise here very often, but if you post a message to either
RaceSimCentral or The Pits message boards, I'm sure you will get a few
pointers, most ot them are online of course

I'm currently hard at work making setups for our annual BullRun 1000
race (online), the BullRun track is a blast in N2002 as you're actually
airborne twice and you need to time those yumps to perfection or face
the consequences :-)

Beers and cheers

Well, if they are smart and want to sell copies, they probably won't.  Early
word isn't good.

I will probably pick it up anyway.  I always do :)

Oops, I didn't know there was a FREE converter.  I'll have to check that out...
