Grand Prix Legends Help

Hi

I have been trying to join a multiplayer game with my friend.

I am trying to do this through IP, and have had no success. My friend tells
me there should be an "IP Connection" in the box with connection types in
it, but I do not have this option.

I am running an external USB 512k connection.

my friend is on dial up.

any ideas?

Thanks

You need to set the "find IP address another way" switch in your core.ini (a
file in your GPL directory).

Make sure you configure windows to show extentions in explorer when you open
it otherwise you might end up updating the wrong file (there's also one
named core.ini.sample which does nothing).

Also, I would seriously suggest you host the race once you get things going.

Why not just set up a passworded race on VROC?
If you host (as you have the faster connection) and set an agreed
password, put some AI in too and bingo.

VROC is at http://www.vroc.net

If you have problems, ask in the vroc chat window once it's running. You
can even set up your own chat room for you two to chat about the race.

Make sure these lines are in your core.ini

alternate_ip_addr_lookup = 1    ; Find IP addresses another way
disable_network = 0             ; Disables the networks if set to 1
