AMD k7 800, 128 ram, spanking new V5  er  no.
Usually run AA 2x 800*600, and a lot of detail either low or off
and reduced # of AI.  A real system hog.

Hi
I do. Haven't bothered to check frame rate as various apps to show this have
varying figures. I go by the smoothness I see.
It is smooth as. A little jerky the first couple of corners as the track
seems to build up in the cache, but aftyer that I can have cars all around
me with no affect.

P3 650 on an Asus P3B-F, running at 910Mhz
Creative GeForce 32Mb DDR, clocked up also, with Nvidia 5.22
256Mb Century PC133
Seagate Cheetah 18.2Gb SCSi UW2 on Adaptec 2940 UW2

To be quite honest my lowly PII 350mhz, Voodoo Banshee 16mb, 64mb Ram,
etc.... copes fairly well in a race in full detail. problems come though in
the fisrt few laps as we all know, I usually turn a few things off to get a
good start and to level out the fps but i can't say that after 1-2 laps that
the fps is terrible or anything, I can't really believe that a PIII 800
can't handle it as some say.

hi Richie

how much ram are you using?

interesting to note you are using TNT2
32mb

I have a feeling the game does not use system
ram limiting itself only to the graphic card memory
for graphics

hi tony

I guess there is NO GAME that runs
slow on your megamachine
:-)

how is your load time for F1 2000
seeing that you have a SCSI drive?
could you kindly time it for me...
I am seriously considering SCSI

I'm running a Compaq 18.2GB WU2 drive on an adaptec controller (the
benefits of fixing Compaq servers for a living). Load times on F12000
are negligable between my 4.2GB IDE and my 18.2GB SCSI

SCSI drives shine when they're coupled with several drives and each
one is being access simultaneously (i.e server solutions).

Save your dough and stick with IDE. In many instances, a single IDE
drive is cheaper and faster than a single SCSI drive. The
price/performance is just not worth it when you get to a drive that
will match your decent spec'ed IDE drive.

Cheers,
Rod.
