Just picked up F1 2000 today and I must say I'm VERY dissapointed :(

When the game actually started I thought, oops this must be in software
mode, better change the 3d device setup. So I did. No difference. It
was already in d3d :( Then I changed to software mode to double check.
That was of course even worse.

I haven't heard anyone else mention the POOR graphics (IMHO). I was
expecting something close to SCGT, if not better. Nope. The first track
I played, Hockenheim, looked just awful. Then I tried Monaco. Better.
But still some of the buildings looked horrible.

The screenshots look MUCH better (looks like a different game to me).
The trees and many of the buildings look especially poor. Its like I'm

to make out the cars in front of you at a distance. The tracksides need
to be anti-aliased in a big way. Its very distracting.

The screenshots show the cars with 3d wheels. They are not. (that I
have seen). Am I missing something? I've got all the details maxed out
and options turned on.

turning down the options) I was of course warned about this.

I'm also getting kicked to the desktop after hitting anything when FF
is turned on (Act Force RS). I see alot of others are having the same
problem. I agree the sound needs some work. I'm sure it wont be long
before we see 3rd party support for that.

I WILL still play this game because of course graphics are not
everything. It's just not what I had expected after seeing all the
screenshots and lack of complaints about the graphics.

Oh well sorry for the rant......at least I also picked up Thief2
tonight :)

But, falcon26, you are attempting to run F1-2000 on Win2000
which is not supported. I am surprised it ran at all.

Why do you insist on going on about W2K?  I've said it several times
previously to you - IT WORKS FINE IN W2K!  Why are you surprised it works?
Almost everything else does too - F1RS, MGPRS2, GPL, N3, etc. etc.

Because it specifically excludes Win2K support, on the bottom of the box?

So what if it excludes Win2k support.  He is right those other sims do work with Win2k.
Don't believe everything you read!!!.

As I said in an earlier thread, it says that on the box probably because the
techie support don't know much about it at the moment.
