Check out the GPL 1.1 readme. It has a section on serving behind a firewall.

In the Advanced section of the router setup, with at least 1.36 of the
firmware, go to the Forward section and forward the following UDP
ports to your IP address, you can select the static IP or the DHCP
that your compputer has obtained. I assigned both of my computers
static IPs.

6970-6971 to IP
32766-32786 to IP

Now if you want to be able to do two computers, that is where I am
having problems now. I know how to set it up, but I am unable to get
GPL or VROC to use the different ports.

sweet thanks!

So VROC and GPL us the same ports then?  right now if I fire up VROC I get
the chat but its "trying to connect to server list" or something like that
anyway. So if I set that up VROC will work I guess is what I'm asking :)

I hope I have a slot left for this. I was there was more than 10 forwards.

Are you wanting to run GPL server on 2 machines or serve on one and play on
a 2nd?

All these ports should be UDP!

In GPL:
[ Communications ]
net_server_port = 32766
bcast_port = 6970
bcast_ping_port = 6971

In Winvroc, setting up a host, it's on the Server tab.

GPL Server Question

You can have two GPL servers behind a firewall.  You have to tell GPL on
one of them to use a different range of ports (through core.ini) and set
up the gateway routing appropriately.

Details are in my online FAQ.

See the sections on Sygate and Linux gateways.  You'll have to
extrapolate to your router.

GPL Server Question

I know all this, but when I try it I notice that VROC or GPL is still
tryin to have things sent to the default ports. I have given up on the
idea of hosting at home as it is much easier to do at work.
