will GPL support net play thru proxy server?

by Andrew Mulve » Tue, 22 Sep 1998 04:00:00

As i run all net connex at our place thru a Linux server i was
interested to know if GPL will support play thru such a server out of
the box in the same way that most FPS games do. If not my net GPL
activity will be sadly lacking :(

Anyone know?

Thanx

T :)

I don't think such server software is planned for Linux: I'd go
a step further and demand loudly a native linux version having
just such a feature as you described. I don't understand why
only id software seems to have the  few *competent* programmer's
caves these days who enjoy using linux so much that they do a
linux port on their own (like john carmack did) and release it as
unsupported software as they did.

Hey folks at papy, what is your favourite OS? Step forward and
declare, do not be afraid even though Sierra might be listening! ;-)
