I had a ms ff wheel that worked fine. I decided to get a momo because i
heard it was better. Well I am starting to wonder if I made the right
choice. The pedals are terrible and the wheel feels better but I am not sure
if it is that much better. I have only been using it a few days so maybe I
have not given myself enough time. I am already thinking about buying TSW
pedals for it.

I think it's a fantastic wheel. I agree the pedals dont match the wheel
for quality.

TSW Pedals compliment the Momo very nicely - as does the USB RS Shifter from
Act Labs.

i find that the throttle is fine but im a left foot breaker and if i hover
my foot above the brake my foot will go numb...
to remedy this wedge up the front of the pedals by putting a video cassette
underneath the front .... it seems to do the trick for me.....
im thinking about fabricating a big wooden wedge for a more permenant
solution.......
has anyone else got a better remedy( bar buying tsw pedals)

Stick a usb cable in your ear and write a driver for you head.  That should
do the trick, bound to more intuitive than pedals ;)

I put my MOMO pedals on a wooden tilted base and have no issues with them,
they work great.

Not to be a smart ass, but if you bought the MOMO based on what you read
here you should have expected to be less than thrilled with the pedals. Just
about every post about the MOMO says the wheel is great the pedals suck. Now
with that said there is plenty of options. The first one would to be use
your current MSFF pedals with the MOMO wheel. Some games other than Papy
ones may not support this but its a start.

I put a squash ball under the brake pedal.

You should have stuck with the MS wheel. It will last alot longer than that
logitech crap. The ff is much stronger and the pedal are very good. You paid
alot of money for that Momo name, thats about it....

You heard correctly, IMO.

I feel I have to defend the pedals a bit here. I had heavily modified my TM
NasPro pedals and wired them to my original LWFF before. When I bought the
MOMO my situation was such it was basically all I could do to get the racing
in I had committed myself to (leagues) so I had no time to do anything
special for the pedals and just went with the default "until I got around to
re-wiring the unit". I'm still using them. I think most people will baulk at
the low resistance of the springs, but once used to this I find them very
easy and precise to use. For left foot braking I rest my foot on the base
and operate the pedal with my big toe.

The wheel itself smooths out a bit with use and the leather wheel cover
makes it a lot more comfortable to use in longer races.

I'm happy with my MOMO and think if you give yourself the time to adapt you
will be too. That said... high end 3rd party pedals sets are worth
considering in their own right.

Fortunately, there's more to the Logitech MOMO than just the brand name
tie-in. It's better engineered, built and finished than the regular models
(and the MSFF, IMO) as well.
Also, it's not how strong the FF can be, IMO, but how precise and subtle the
response is which makes for a good FF wheel. Even a basic Logitech can
manage "too much" in my experience. A common "beginner" error when getting
an FF wheel is turning up the strenght too much in order to "really feel
what's going on", again: IMO.

That said, if you want something that requires manhandling and rattles you
around when playing games it's probably not worth paying the extra money for
the MOMO. The MSFF can take a lot of abuse and, at the force levels
inferred, you might not feel the difference.

I typically run my Momo with no FF or it set less than 10%.
People that think that the FF strength is the key have it wrong IMHO.  It's
the smoothness and quality of it.

Thats just what I do. :)  I've been doing it for years since I had the LWFF
before the MOMO. The ooooooonly real knock I have on the Logi pedals is the
short travel. I actulaly prefer their range movement over other pedals. I
think this is due to sitting poosition since I use an office type chair at
my desk. If I had more of a***pit design where I sat lower then they may
not be so great.

The feel of the MSFF wheel sucks. That damn seam cuts into your hand. It was
the biggest reason I DIDN't go with the MSFF

MadDAWG - I use mine in more of a***pit style setup on a raised tilted
base with no issues.  See post above for pics.
I think the problem is people smack them out of the box, fire them on the
floor at their desk and expect them to suit every situation perfectly.  They
are also use to whatever they are currently using and thus any change is
going to take some time.  The MOMO pedals are not the strongest in the word
for sure but I like mine and they work great.  I personally like the low
resistance, take getting use to but nice when your running long races, can
easily get on and off the gas and brake.

Yup. For sims I set the ff as low as possible, to the point where I
can just still feel all the ff effects. A ff wheel should be an extra
help in understanding what the car is doing, it shouldn't be a workout
tool.
