Although, you touch on a possible add-on concept like those "abterminator"
products found on late night TV infomercials.  They electrically stimulate
the gobs of fat around ones belly in order to theoretically produce firm,
rock hard abs under the surface.  I'm sure we can find a way to use the
power of the FF motor to produce the desired electrical stimulus.  Any
takers? ;0)

You obviously never put your hands on the Momo. I had the MSFF before and
there is a BIG difference in quality. Leather wheel, metal gear shift
paddels (a lot more usefull than the rather silly buttons on the MSFF) and
absolutly precise ball bearing wheel shaft. Enough to justify the price, IMHO.

The pedals are the only negative point, but you can get used to them.

Your mouse has moved. Windows must be restarted for the change

That is the strangest leather I've ever seen/felt... Some kind of synthetic
plasticy substance,  but leather?  From a COW?   Bear in mind I only used a
Momo for a few very short minutes before it went straight back to Fry's.
$200.00 for that piece of sh... nevermind..

In terms of longevity, my version 1 Logitech FF wheel
is now about 5 years old and still works perfectly.
It is still quiet, still puts out the same level of
feedback and is still precise.

whats more, i've fitted logi pedals to both my real
cars because they are so much easier to use (ok that
bit not so serious).

I don't think any judgements can be made about the
longevity of the momo wheel in comparison but I would
expect it's construction to be pretty durable.

I agree with another followup to this post - strength
of forcefeedback isn't the most important feature of
a wheel.  I'd rather listen to a great sounding stereo
than just a loud one.

That's how I see it, too.  Of course, I had previously conditioned myself to
the LWFF pedals, with half a squashball substituting for the brake spring.
After that experience, the Momo's pedals (with the squashball transplanted)
were awesome in comparison.

The problem with the old pedals was that their travel was so weak that you'd
floor the brake with the slightest effort.   A squashball will only compress
so far before the resistance builds up exponentially - not linearly like
with the weak-ass springs.  This is similar to the increase in pressure in a
car's brakes.  If you try this (a good single- or double-dot ball is only a
few bucks) you'll look at the pedals in a whole new light.

And I didn't even mention the spring-loaded, tilting pedal blocks.   That's
a huge improvement in their own right.  Yeah, spend at least a couple of
days with the pedal unit before you condemn it - they might surprise you..

I to had the original LWFF which is why I went with the MOMO. The only
reason for the upgrade was the sterring shaft bushings were full of slop.
Thats why I figured the MOMO's ball bearing unit was the perfect way to go.

You find yourself in the _exact_ position I was in.

Had (have) a MSFFW, and bought a Momo.

Loved the wheel, simply could not deal with the pedals.

The Momo went back in the box and stashed away as an emergency spare, the
MSFFW went back on the desk.

My MSFFW is 2+ years old, has been beat to hell, and still works perfectly.

We'll have to see if a Momo can do the same :)
