I think it's been WIDELY advertised as a game specifically for users
with a high-end 3D card (Read: 3DFX, and others), alot of cards may say
"3D" on the box, but they really don't cut it. The market they are
expecting is the market that is on the horizon, because, like it or not,
games are going to require better and better hardware in the future. Go
to http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/97/06/12/msft_x000_4.html and read about
the OpenGL issue with Microsoft and most big name game designers.
Microsoft's Direct3D is too hard to design for, and Windows95 doesn't
support OpenGL very well, and that is the direction of tomorrows games.
So for now, you need an expensive card with patches specifically for
each game to support the accelleration since Win95 won't. Of course,
this is all my own opinion, but I believe you get the idea.
