Is there a way to save a race, say after half the race and then return to
finish it later? I did this all the time in N3 but haven't figured it out
in N4. I like to run longer races where pitting is required but don't
always have time to do it in one sitting. When I save in N4 it will save at
the previous session end but not in middle of session. Sorry if this has
been asked and answered here before, kinda new to the group.

Yes it has been asked. N4 is NOT a direct decendant of N3. Rather GPL is
the base for N4 and neither GPL nor N4 allows in-race saves. Further,
Nascar Heat won't do that either...although you CAN increase fuel and tire
wear and force several pitstops in a relatively short race.

Sometimes I will hit the escape key to pause the race and then hit alt-tab
to minimize N4 and return to windows. Let the kids do their homework and as
long as you don't shut down windows, your game will still be there when
you're ready to go again.

Of course this isn't a solution, just a possible work around.

Cool - I didn't know you could switch windows with N4. You can't in GPL, or in
N3, IIRC...

You can switch windows in GPL. Just edit your core.ini as follows:

[ Rasterizer ]
fullScreen = 1 ; run Full Screen?

Change the 1 to a 0 and GPL will run in a window.

I tried that to get zone alarm working,,,,didn't do anything different.
With my V5 it was still full screen.

It didn't work for me either, but I also have a V5...
