WOW! Thanks for this great info! So what do you think of NFSHP2?

Yeah, do us all a favor and killfile him now just as we have over the years.

I haven't been able to try it yet (though I've downloaded the demo - severe
lack of HD space, that's the problem), but from what I've heard, it seems
it's not what I was expecting...

What I heard was that the ppl who made NFS 2-4, made the PC/XBox/GC
versions, and the ppl who made NFS 1&5, made the PS2 version... that
would certainly explain a lot.

Anyone else getting horrible FF on the NFS-HP2 demo? All I get is some
strange rattle when I drive over grass or hit something, no effects at
all when driving on the asphalt...

Not quite .... the PS2 version was made by Black Box in Vancouver, and
it's there first crack at NFS.

The PC/XBox/GC version was handed off to a Seattle company, I don't
know who - so you might be right that it's the NFS 1-4 people. I did
hear that they didn't like the Black Box driving engine, so they
replaced it with their own [vastly inferior] one.

FF? Don't use non-standard acronyms...

: FF? Don't use non-standard acronyms...

...b/c some people are too clueless to figure it out?

LOL.  As there isn't an acronyms standards body and that commonly
used acronyms differ by the group, saying not to use non-standard
acronyms is pretty pointless.  Better to ask that acronyms be
defined before being used.

BTW, look at the context, it's pretty obvious.  If you still need
help, look at the newsgroups.  In this case, "FF" might just be a
common abbreviation in rec.autos.simulators.

Hmmm... the original was made by EA Canada (with EA Seattle too, I believe).

something like this:

ROFL... show me the standard and I'll use it.

BTW, NFS also means Network File System, but amazingly all the ppl who
replied to this thread knew that in this context it meant Need For
Speed... human brains can do amazing things when they're used.

And FYI, AFAIK it has been the "standard" netiquette to put replies
_under_ the text you are replying to. Looks IMHO so much better.
