Grand Prix Legends - Track Database Question

Hello!

There are really a lot of made GPL tracks available:

Can anyone tell which ones are the best/the most essential. I am looking
for the best tracks (5-10 best tracks maybe) which capture the essence
of F1 racing 1967...(so no mickeymouse circuits of 2000)

Thanks for any suggestion.

Trying to name five or ten tracks that are "the best" is like trying to
pick five or ten "most beautiful landscapes; it's going to be very much
in the opinion of the individual.

Some people like short tracks with tricky, slow corners. Some people
like tracks with fast sweepers. Some people like tracks like
Nurburgring and Isle of Man.

I'd offer an opinion that the tracks that come with the game are as
close to the essence of the 1967 season as any, since they are -- with
the exception of Rouen -- the very tracks that the 1967 season used.

But there are hundreds of tracks available. You may like others.

It's like asking somebody for their 10 best deserts, tastes differ.

The ones that came with the game certainly fit the bill, there are some
other great tracks from the era that maybe weren't big F1 tracks:

Goodwood (classic british airport circuit)
Clermont Ferrand   (French Nurburgring)

I would recommend all tracks mentioned earlier plus:

Keimola (Finnish track)
Eltsu (Finnish track)
Bathurst (Australian track very nice track)
Solitude (German track, little older era tho....)
Bremgarten (Swiss track!!!! from era before car racing was forbidden in
Switzerland!)

just 5 is really impossible to name, so I would install at least 20
track!!! :-D
Good luck!

Thanks.

However I have some problems with Trackinstall (comes with the tracks).
Some tracks just won't install. Trackinstall.exe complains about missing
or not valid install.ini -file. However there seems to be nothing wrong.
Any idea?

I know nothing about the installer, but I'd run a malware scanner if I
were you.

The track data can often be copied right to the tracks folder and it
works ok. Just make sure the file called "dat" is named "trackname.dat"
and it should be ok.
