Mark... Nice idea!!
Just to be a little pick'y... the '67 layout of Le Mans i quite different
from the one you got on your page...
In '67 there were no chicanes on Mulsanne, nor any Porsche Curves or Ford
chicane and Dunlop corner was a _real_ corner and not a semi-chicane like
it is today...
Just thought i'd let you know..

Keep up the good work!

Nice idea - and thanks for the pic of Jimmy Clark. First time I've felt
compelled to use IE's "set as wallpaper" feature <g>

Hi there,

You have the wrong Zandvoort circuit picture! It is the "interim" circuit
of 2,4km since 1985. The old circuit (the one of 1967) had a length of
4.193 km, with a lot of "flat out" corners. On behalf of the GPDA  the
first chicane appeared in 1973 and some years later the second one. Due to
local politics the circuit had been cut to half in1985, so an holiday park
could emerge at the backside of the circuit! Nowadays the political climate
has changed again and because of Jos Verstappen, autosport is more popular
than ever in Holland, so the track will be lengthened again to 4.2km in
1998! The layout will be different though.....(modern=chicanes=less
speed=less e***ment,etc,etc)

Cheers,

Harald

The Le Mans track used for the 1967 GP of France was the "Bugatti" track
and NOT the Sarthe circuit as used for the 24-Hour race.

For the circuits used in the full 1967 Championship, go to:

Right now in Papyrus World HQ there's a guy going "What?!?! Really??!
Oh shiiiiiiiiiiiit......!"

(Just kidding of course - for anyone who remains to be convinced of
this, see if you can get a hold of "Computer *** World (UK magazine
only maybe) and look at the preview pics of GPL. The rear view of the
car sitting on the Monza main straight is _lovely_, makes GP2 show
it's age. Any chance of someone upping these pics somewhere so
everyone can get a look?).

Cheers!

John....
I hope you're kidding!  I trust Papyrus enough to believe that they
would have researched sufficiently to determine the correct tracks and
layouts for the sim!

I hope!!!!

Bruce - I know that you know that I was joking, but there are some
people for whom anything is believable (I think this is where the
National Enquirer's readership come in). Since I noticed that some of
these people really believed that we convinced Geoff not to do a 3dFX
patch for GP2, I'll state this very clearly so as not to mislead
anyone!

* * *  STATEMENT * * *
The comment I made about the GPL tracks and Papy's research was a joke
and no truth whatsoever was contained therein. As a matter of some "
"fact" (since when did I need facts?!) from what I have heard Papy's
research was very extensive indeed - I was impressed :)  Way beyond
"researched sufficiently".
* * *    ENDS    * * *

Okay gang - no worries on the research front, no Woodcote chicane at
Silverstone, no accidental "new & sterile Nurburgring", and definitely
no wings or turbos.

Cheers!

No legal experience here - a lot of marketing though, which often has
the same connotation regarding how liberal one is with the truth and
how you can later wriggle your way out of what you said!

Cheers!
