I know you probably are all sick of releases date but I just called one the
local computer store here in quebec and they say the release date is 17th of
July...take it for what it's worth... I prefer believing the other date which
is floating around (june 27).

Also anyone else think that it would have been better if in the***pit view we
could see the front wheels just like in ICR2 ?? I find it easier for cornering,
you know exactly where you are. just mho

see you

I guess as the end of June approaches we'll be getting new release
dates every day from now on. Seems to be we're getting several a day
now as it is. HoHum.

Not sure about the wheels. I'll have to go play ICR2 and imagine them
to be missing to think about this one. I do know that I like having
the wheels there, because I do use them into some corners, like the
corners before the tunnel section at Vancouver. I imagine the wheel
width and try to hug the wall except for that amount. Sometimes it
works!

It's the wheel built into the dash that I don't think I'm going to
like.

Horses for courses, we had this argument raging long and ***
CompuServe a couple of months ago.

Personally I reckon that once you're turned in and committed to a
corner, if you've got to worry about where your front wheels are then
you're screwed. Having driven F1GP in NSA and SA modes, I've never had a
problem knowing where my wheels are - I can miss kerbs when I want, and
use them when I want.

By the same token, in ICR2 I never really look to see where my wheels
are - by the time I've checked I've already hit the wall/grass/car.

"Doesn't make a difference" is my vote.

Cheers!
John

well, I am not sure about this one - it seems to me that I don't use the
sight of the wheel at all, because when I start to look at the walls and try
to put the wheel as close as possible to them I often end up crashing. My
driving teacher once said that you always want to go where you are looking
at, perhaps that's the reason. Also, I never had problems with F1GP 1 (where
you don't have wheels, too). So, I think it's just a question of getting
used to it.

Bye, Michael

...
...

When you sit in a real F1 car, or any similar open wheeler for
that matter, the front wheels seem incredible close to you.
(I have read it, not sat in one myself)

Also, when a driver go into a corner s/he uses the front wheels
as a reference to how far s/he is from the apex.
A driver doesn't actively use the front wheels as described
above but the wheels are a part of the whole picture where
instinct is the most important part. But seeing the wheels
are very important.

Given this is strikes me as a bit odd that you don't have
an ICR2 kind of***pit in GP2.

Talking about the***pit of GP2, it is very arcadish and
doesn't look like a real one at all. In fact, even though
the***pits do vary from constructor to constructor in F1,
the constructors in F1 use similar displays as seen in Indy
Cars. The current GP2***pit has a lot of stupid information
like graphics detail(you can actually look at the track to
see if track texture is on...) and current lap number neither
of which have anything to do in a "real"***pit.

Btw the ICR2***pit is almost 100% like the real thing.
That's great stuff.
