about the game. The women on the phone described it as being 'top secret' but that it
is being written by Geoff Crammond, the original author of Revs, Stunt Car Racer,F1GP
and The Sentinel ( a 3-d puzzle game for 8-bit machines ). I also hear that it will
feature texture mapped graphics a la IndyCar, and they have dropped plans for the
Amiga version ( quite sensibly, considering the increased market share of PCs and
increased processor power ratio from PC to Amiga ). Here is an interesting point:
Geoff Crammond denied MicroProse the permission to release update seasons + circuits
for the original F1GP, in order that he could concentrate efforts on F1GP2. There
must, therefore be significant improvements in the game. Personally, I hope they
manage to produce a more realistic A.I. engine ( and a more robust one than that seen
in IndyCar ), and also a network option for the game. As for the graphics, I don't
really mind about texture mapping - I've run IndyCar on a Pentium-60 and turned the
texture mapping for the cars off because it looks a bit of a mess in VGA resolution.
Hopefully someone will release a good quality set of pedals + steering wheel, similar
to the T1 but incorporating a semi-automatic gearbox - is that too much to hope for??
Fraser.
P.S. does anyone know if it is possible to email MicroProse U.K.? If so, what is the
address?
