If any of you own this combination, could you please answer a question
for me?  How do you disable the Live!'s joystick port in DOS?  I mean real
DOS, not a DOS window.  I dual boot to actual DOS to run ICR2, GP2, etc..

I believe there is a utility in the folder with the other Live! software
called SBSET.EXE that, when run in dos, will reconfigure the Live!
initialization values to what you specify, including disabling the gameport.
Please, read the documentation and readme's for more info.

DOS?  I haven't figured out how to disable it in
Windows...  Any suggestions?  The wierd part is
that even with the SB Live port active, the PDPI works
OK.

BTW, I just got the PDPI a couple of days ago, and
it's great.  Last night in the NTT race, I had so
much more control through Masta than ever before.

I believe all you need to do for Windows is simply do a "Disable in this
hardware profile" in device manager.  Funny that it's working for you
without this.  Maybe the Live has the ability to shuffle the address of
its gameport around if it detects something else there.

Oh yea, it didn't occur to me to just disable it in
the profile.  Since everything seems to be working
anyway, it's probably not even important, but I'll
try it anyway.

BTW, any Plug and Play sound card should be able
to shuffle the address around.  My sound card game
port address is currently set to 210-217, leaving
201 open for the PDPI.  You just have to install
the sound card *after* you install the PDPI.

Which, of course, is to say that Pat went from "amazing" to "unbelievable".
