GPL -- Reversed Brake and Throttle

by Keith Krame » Fri, 11 Dec 1998 04:00:00

Can anyone tell me why I am getting a reversed throttle and brake in
GPL, when it calibrates correctly in Windows95 Joystick?  I am using
Joystick 1, Standard Gameport settings with a Gravis Grip in
Pass-Through mode.

I have reinstalled GPL and the Gameport Joystick several times, but they
doesn't seem to be the solution. The problem is a persistant one and
every so often, I stumble into the solution, but I can't recreate it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Keith Kramer

I am assuming you want to brake and accelerate using the same (throttle)
control where:-
Forward position is accelerate, Central Position is neither accelerate nor
brake, and back position is braking.

When you begin calibration, have your throttle control dead centre. Move the
control to throttle forward position FIRST. Then move to brake position.
Calibration label should now read: Throttle/Unassigned. Calibrate the other
controls then press ok and in the new window assign the "Unassigned" (brake)
by clicking on "Unassigned" and then slowly move your throttle to the brake
position. This might take a few times to get it right.
