Hi Steve!  Hows that gorgeous Mustang going (Bullit), or the bike (Great
Escape) or the Porsche (Le Mans)? :-)

Yeah - bit boring wasn't it. Nothing worse than loads of DNFs for making
a race tedious.

Hopefully either a short oval or road course next!

I thought the subject was pretty obvious. If you don't want to know then you shouldn't come to the newsgroup and read messages with that subject matter.

No worries, but I was trying to avoid knowing the result of the race until
I'd watched it later.

True to a certain extent, but it is possible to discuss a race without
necessarily giving away the outcome.

read messages with that subject matter.<<

If I was being picky (which I'm not), then I could claim that I didn't
read it on a CART newsgroup, and that the post had little to do with
simulators (as, I think, the original poster conceded).

Cheers,

Steve.

Naa, apart from having SPOILER written in your header, you made it
fairly obvious as to what was in your post with that header, all IMHO of
course :-)

Talking of CART...Isn't it about time we had a decent CART sim release? CPR
(which wasn't even good anyway, IMHO) was a long time ago. Do MS own the
exclusive rights to put one out?

Hiya "Bomber" :-)

I must say that it puzzles me more than a bit that nobody seems to be
working on one, at least not officially, given the relative high
popularity of this series on a world wide basis, it should be possible
to make money from such a title...

Speaking of popularity, was the absence of a CART race on Eurosport this
weekend something for this weekend only, or have they given up on the
rights to show the races live ?

I do believe that Papy actually has rights to do a CART sim, or at least
they did not too long ago, if nothing else, we'd get more road courses
for GPL and N3/TPTCC :-)))

Can't speak for Norway, old chap, but we here in the UK got the whole race
live, which caused the NASCAR Bristol race recording to be delayed at least
90 minutes...and thanks for remembering the Bomber bit! I just felt it was
right to post/race under my real name....you (rarely) see an irresponsible
driver using a real name (apart from me, of course)

It should sell more than GPL because of larger appeal, but would it still
be enough ?

Eurosport dropped it because CART raised the price. The only motorsport we
get in Norway this year is F1 with the excellent insight of Jon Herwig
Carlsen :)

First the loss of two great drivers, then the loss of a great team owner and
then the loss of the whole coverage. It's so sad I don't know what to say.

I posted some weeks ago a statement found on deja.com where someone from papy
promised a new CART sim based on the GPL engine for 1999........
