This f1rs game is ***ing HARD even on easy level, it reminds me of indycar
racing 1 on the street circuits, I can not do a lap with out going of at
least 10 times, it looks the business but unplayable.
Long live GP2, f1rs is not fit to wipe it's arse.

Perhaps a little more practice would be in order?

Being a sim novice, I was not surprised when I had trouble staying on
the track and keeping from spinning. After a few hours of practice,
however, and a few single race tries, I'm doing a lot better. Comparing
F1RS to GP2, it seems to me that F1RS requires a lot more care in
handling the car. Overcompensating with steering corrections will make
you lose control a lot more easily in F1RS than GP2.

And on the "EASY" setting, with all aids on, it was quite easy to win
pole and dust the field (and I would be the one dusted by any
intermediate to serious sim racer here). So I'm not sure if "***ing
HARD" is a quality inherent in the game, or lies elsewhere...

Do you have a steering wheel? If you don't you really should get one as that
is probably what is making it so hard (I haven't played the game using the
keyboard, but know it is quite easy using a wheel). Also, if that is the
case, why don't you mention it in the post so that people who do have
steering wheels aren't turned off.

Sheesh you have no pride whatsoever huh....I mean to come on a World
Wide Forum and admit that some game is KICKING YOUR ASS severely then to
BLAME the game...ooooh my thats some balls. I guess you suppose that
driving an F1 car is easy...eh. And if you cant beat Shuey's record
around SPA then the game sucks...yup yup that sounds like the criteria
for a realistic game.

You know GP2 was a neat game. I bet you werent very good at it either...

I've been using a destiny wheel and pedals, I think this is the problem
since I've used the keybourd it's alot easier, I don't get as much realism
with the wheel in f1rs as I did in gp2 It's not as responsive.

And all of us with joysticks, keyboard, wheels are GODS to be able to run a
race, 100% and finish in the points?

GP-2 has an unrealistically stable car if you put the help in the
control-config menu on. It's then acutally near impossible to go into a
spin.

Turn that off and see if Big Old GP-2 is still "Long Live GP2"

One thing I noticed in F1RS is to make sure you have "race car controller"
selected in W95's controller setup. F1RS seems to switch between linear and
non-linear steering depending on your W95 selection. Found this out while
trying to setup my Nascar Pro with CH Pedals. Listed as a joystick I had
huge center null zone as wheel null zone was gone. Way more percise.

hehehhehe...pretty funny....damn must suck  putting your foot in your
mouth eh....maybe next time instead of trashing a sim you might ask
nicely to see if anyone else has encountered your problem.

I have looked and looked but cannot for the life of me find how to
select "race car controller" in Win95.
The instructions I got with my wheel (Advantage 1) say's that you get
to it via the joystick applet and select "custom" and "special
feature". ***ed if I can see them. Could it be that some versions
of Win95 dont have that option?

Could not wait hey :).
So what's the verdict on the A1. I'm still waiting delivery.

Do yourself a favor and download the ProPanel utility from
www.thrustmaster.com you will find it in the support library.
I'd select one of the Thrustmaster wheels as device 1. Then calibrate.
You should click on the wheel symbol next to the DEVICE dialog and you
will see a submenu with some choices. For whatever reason it always
shows "rudders" checked when I switch to my racing gear. This shows up
as device unplugged on the main page, and is very misleading. Just
deselect rudders if it happens to you and all will be well.

Dave.

I tried a Destiny for a while and the steering was quite jerky until
I re-installed the wheel as a Custom device in the Control Panel ->
Game Controllers.

When you do this (I think it was 2-axis 4-button joystick) you can
also specify "race car controller".

This made things a whole lot better.

Then the hardware broke :)
So now I have a Nascar Pro/F1 Wheel :)

Neil
