with. I rang Jason Ferraro on Thursday and he had someone from the
factory deliver it on Friday. He said I was desperate and must have
felt sorry for me :)
First thing you'll notice is that it's rather hefty. Both the wheel
and pedals are solid and feel good. I noticed a slight spike with mine
but it seems to have gone away, maybe the pots just needed running in.
Very comfortable wheel and it's smaller than I expected. I guess I was
expecting something like the size of the wheel in my Monaro :)
It's probably comparable in size to a real F1 wheel.
The G clamp works perfectly and the wheel wont budge from my desk.
The pedals are very nice. They just feel perfect to me.
I cant really say that i've noticed any difference in tension between
brake and accelerator like some other pedals are supposed to do.
I've actually got that util sitting on a CDR disc but you just
reminded me I had it. I was saving it just for this occasion.
I was a bit lost when it came to installation. Only because the
instructions seem to describe something different to the joystick
setup that's in my version of Win95. At first I had the wheel set up
as a standard 2button 2axis joystick. No problems, it works fine like
that. Then I found the "custom" option the instructions were on about.
It tells you to select "racing car controller". I tried that and it
also worked but it was much more sensitive. By this time I'd gotten
used to the way it felt as a "joystick" and I'm still using that at
the moment. F1RS is a blast with this wheel :)
I'm very happy with it but cant compare it to anything else since it's
the first wheel I've owned.
Let me know what you think when you get yours.
