N2 - Questions

by Sylvain Levasse » Mon, 17 Mar 1997 04:00:00

Ok N2 experts.  I have just loaded my new N2 version on my computer (98
megs) and had no problems.  I did the autodetect (sound card) and it found
that I had a sound blaster 16 (port 220, irq 10, dma 3) and I heard the
10-4.  I went to load the game and all the colors got **** up.  Deleted
the game and re-loaded it, colors were fine now, auto detected the card
again and the colors got **** up again.  But I tried to play the game
with the color like that but I couldn't hear a thing. What can I do to
solve the problem??  BTW I have an ATI Mach64 2 meg, p120, 32 edo meg.  I also
have N1 on my hard drive.

Also when I went to load my uniVBE drivers it told me that this version of
drivers couldn't support reallocated i/o or something like that and I
should change my jumpers on my card.  Does Papy have new drivers for it or
do I have to change my jumpers??  If I have to change my jumpers, which one???

I really like the new N2, much easier on the eyes then N1.

Thx in advance for the help guys.

This is just a shot in the dark.  But, it seems that your PnP BIOS is
giving the same IRQ to your video card as you are assigning your
soundcard.  See if there is some way to disable your video from grabbing
an IRQ.  When your machine boots up does it display IRQ's assigned by
PnP?

Go to http://www.atitech.ca/ and find their latest VESA driver and use
it instead of the uniVBE that comes with N2.
