Can anyone get more details regarding this title from Microprose? I know
it's a game that will be brought by A. Levesque and that other guy that
worked on Viper racing. More info would be welcome. Release date is
august...

Info on NASCAR Heat is starting to be made public.  You can check out
Adrenaline Vault & Digital Sports Page for some screen shots & early
info.

It's a Hasbro Sports title - not Microprose branded.  And yes, Adam
Levesque is involved.  The lead developer is Monster Games (MGI) and
Adam & the gang at Blue Fang Games are working on it as well.

Ed, I am keeping my fingers crossed that with the pool of talent
that has been accumulated and put at your disposal we will see the
definitive Nascar product. It would be ironic if former Papyrus
employees, given the chance to use their creative licence and not
bound by financial and artistic hand***can take us to new levels
of realism!

I appreciate the sentiment and I agree that we've assembled an
incredible team.  But even though many of our roots trace back to
Papyrus, that doesn't mean we're up to those same tricks.  Papyrus is
AWESOME at what they do.  I'm looking forward to NASCAR 4 as much as
any of you.  From what I've seen & heard, I think it will be a great
game.

But NASCAR Heat is not N4 - it was never intended to be a Papyrus
knock-off.  Our feeling here is that there's a great big NASCAR market
out there & there's plenty of room for lots of good & different
products.

Yes, NASCAR Heat has a fantastic sim component, but it's got a lot
more, too - and frankly, it's that "more" & "different" stuff that
we've focused much of our efforts on.  So please don't expect "GPL
with fenders" from Hasbro Interactive - that's what Papyrus excels at
and trying to our-Kaemmer Dave Kaemmer is an impossible task.  :-)

So, you can count on incredible realism from Hasbro, but you should
also look forward to/expect additional driving models & totally new
types of gameplay with things like our "Normal Mode" and "Beat the
Heat" feature.

Flips? Fires?  "Personal" cars (not just "drive as Dale E.")? Expandable
(tracks, cars)? What rules? Trucks? BGN?

Ed, I certainly appreciate your willingness to subject yourself to what
this group is capable of!  While I for one, certainly don't expect ANYBODY
to come up with a "GPL with fenders", I'd like to see something above
NasRev.  _Personally_ I don't care for "Beat the Heat" and all that (though
I think the ghost car in Viper is a good idea), having it an option is
certainly admirable.  I'd hope to be able to see more stats (not just
fastest lap, but LAST lap and CURRENT lap on the SAME screen), a "real"
crew-chief, animated clean-up crews and tow trucks (hey, I'd seem 'em all
the time in MY races! lol) and MOST IMPORTANTLY pit position based on
qualifying.  I certainly look forward to reviews and a demo of this game.
Given the right features and the right price, I could see myself getting it!
Best of luck, and PLEASE PLEASE keep us informed!
