Does anyone know how to finish a race when the host machine's car has suffered
severe damage (ie blown engine) and can't finish the race. The caller can
continue to run the laps, but you never get the final standings for race over.
This is very frustrating for league play when you are running 50% race lengths.

This is true even if ANY of the human drivers cannot finish the race for
whatever reason.

All you have to do is have the other human driver push you across the
finish line.  You will then see the checkered flag and the race results
will be valid.

Hey, my modem partner pushes me across the line all of the time.  I'm sure
he now takes extra gas to make sure to have enough to push my sorry ass
across the line.  When will we get a rev limiter!!  Maybe he can offer
some tips on proper pushing technique.  ;)

Tried that once, but the other player coldn't budge my car. It was stuck,
unmovable like the pace car is when it sits in the pits

Oh, then you must have had some wheels off of it.  ;)

In that case, then you are SOL.  No way to finish.  Unless you are close
enough to the line when you blow up and he can then ram you across.

BTW, what makes you think you can't push the Pace Car?!?  :)
