gp2 and keyboard and Monza

gp2 and keyboard and Monza

I always played gp1 with a keyboard and now i am doing the same with
gp2, i really dont like the joystick (makes me feel airborne) and i
dont have a t2 or another driving console.
So the Problem is that the lap times are significantly different using
different controls.
At MONZA with the keyboard  and manual gear I make 1.22.512 but the
car could make maybe 1.22.000 (actually I made 1.22.2xx but saving
often...kind of cheating)
then i decided to use the joystick and the 1st impression was that i
could be able to steering much more (kind of unrealistic way...) and
after about 20 laps i got 1.21.6xx with autogear and i suppose it is
possible to go under 1.21.000 with manual gear.
well i think this is a bug.
Anybody out there using the keyboard?

I'm also using keyboard and my time at the moment is 1.23.977 but still
improving. I received a mail from Antonio Mota (Brazil?) and he drove
1.24.348 using Virtual Pilot Pro and Pro Pedals from CH products. It's
not only the control-method I think. Setup is very important and also
your own skills.

BTW check out my homepage for setups and hotlaps.

The Best i have got with the Keyboard is a 1:22.122 using auto gears
and acceleration help (the F7 key). I know some drivers have got into
the Mid 1:21's (1:21.640) using the keyboard.
You will not be able to save a hot lap if you save the game during a
flying lap. What I do is to save the game before the start / stop line
the try a flyer.
Its seems the most difficult part of Monza using the keyboard is the
first chicane get this right and you'll be O.K.

Speed into first chicane corner = 130KPH
then quickly upto 150KPH then exit at 140KPH.

If you go under the bridge just after the first chicane (Detail level
1 required) just after the time changes to 15seconds then keep going!.

Have fun
