You must configure the joystick for throttle and braking, it sucks but
you get more control in the end.  I hated it at first, being
accustomed to indycar but with a very good joystick, one with good
left to right motion even at the extremes of vertical travel
(microsoft sidewinder comes to mind) The game is very very good and
even feels better than my friends t2.

GP2 brakes locking with keyboard

Hi all,

I asked this the other day, but my ISP hasnt delivered this newsgroup
for a week so bear with me as I go on again :

Has anyone noticed that it is almost impossible to brake decently before
corners in GP2? The wheels just lock, and off into the sand you go.... I
realise that this is probably because anti-lock brakes have been
outlawed in Formula 1, I could live without the authenticity if I could
have decent brakes back, like in F1GP! I cannot find a way around this
anywhere in the options, so any suggestions on the subject would be
much appreciated! Of course, if you all think Im a raving lunatic, feel
free to let me know.....

First, you can brake very hard and when yu see that your brakes are locking up,
start playing a.b.s. (tapping the brake key that is!) Also don't forget to go
down through the gears as you brake and you can also brake into a corner (turning
while still hitting that brake button as mad). Anyway, I ordered a T2 since my
keyboard started to complain ;)
To brake properly with a keyboard, you have to be a raving lunatic, so you're
on the right way to become a good keyboard player ;)

Last night I won the World Championship in Ace mode using the keyboard.
Its just a case of getting the brake bias right and lifting off the
brakes at the right time

With a joystick use the fire buttom for brake and just pump or pulse the
brake many times, release it when it locks, kind of abs.
I think it works very well.
